The problem with sharing two store links

Your app lives in two places. Your audience lives on two platforms. But almost every place you promote an app gives you one URL slot: an Instagram bio, a TikTok profile, a QR code on a box, a line in a podcast script, a button in an email template.

So you pick. Choose Google Play and every iPhone visitor lands on a page that cannot install anything on their device. Choose the App Store and the same thing happens in reverse. Offer both and you have added a decision — and a tap — between wanting your app and having it, at exactly the moment attention is thinnest.

Kunshort AppLinks removes the choice. Kunshort AppLinks turns your Google Play and Apple App Store URLs into a single smart link. Every visitor who opens it is detected by device and forwarded to the store that can actually install your app — Android users to Google Play, iPhone and iPad users to the App Store, and everyone else to a preview page with both buttons and a scannable QR code.

How it works

Three steps, about a minute, and nothing to install on your side.

  1. 1

    Add your store links

Paste the Google Play and Apple App Store URLs for your app, along with the name you want visitors to see. One store URL is enough — the second can be added later by creating a new link.

  2. 2

Get one smart link and a QR code

A short link is generated instantly, together with a high-resolution QR code that encodes it. No account, no confirmation email, no waiting.

  3. 3

    Share it everywhere

Put the one link in your bio, your ads, your email footer, your press kit, and your packaging. Every visitor is routed to the store their device can actually install from.

Want the detail — how device detection and the redirect actually work.

What each visitor sees

One URL, three outcomes — decided on the server before the page is sent, so nobody watches a redirect happen.

On an iPhone or iPad

→ Apple App Store

The request carries an iOS User-Agent, so the visitor is forwarded straight to your App Store listing and can tap Get without a second thought.

On an Android phone or tablet

→ Google Play

An Android User-Agent routes to your Play listing. The same link, the same QR code, a different destination.

On a desktop or anything else

→ Your preview page

Instead of an error or a wrong store, the visitor gets your app name, a button per store, and a QR code to move to their phone in one scan.

What you get with every link

No tiers, no upsell — this is the whole product.

Server-side device detection

The platform is resolved before the response is sent, so visitors go straight to their store instead of watching a JavaScript redirect page load and then bounce them onward.

A real fallback, never a dead end

Desktop visitors and unrecognised devices see a preview page with your app name, a button per store, and a QR code — a useful destination rather than an error.

High-resolution QR code included

Every link ships with a downloadable PNG that is clean enough for packaging and large-format print, with no watermark and no attribution requirement.

Short, quotable URLs

A short code is readable aloud on a podcast, typeable from a slide, and short enough to survive a character-limited ad headline.

An indexable preview page per link

Each link gets a shareable page carrying your app name and structured data, so pasting the link into a chat, a document, or a social post produces a proper card rather than a bare URL.

No account and no tracking cookies

Nothing to sign up for, nothing to cancel, no advertising profile built from the people who click your link.

One smart link vs. the alternatives

How a smart link compares with posting both store URLs, or picking a single platform and living with it.

Where people put their smart link

Anywhere you get one URL and a mixed-device audience.

Founders, creators, community managers

Social bios and link-in-bio pages

Point the single bio slot at your smart link. Android followers land on Google Play, iOS followers land on the App Store, and desktop visitors get a QR code they can scan with the phone already in their hand.

Growth and performance marketers

Paid acquisition and influencer campaigns

Give every campaign its own smart link so the platform split resolves itself at click time, and so you can retire or replace a destination per campaign instead of per creative.

Lifecycle and CRM teams

Email, newsletters, and lifecycle messaging

One button, one link, correct destination on every device — and the same link works when the email is forwarded or read weeks later on a different phone.

Product, retail, and brand teams

Packaging, print, and out-of-home

Print the QR code that encodes your smart link. The artwork stays correct as long as the link exists, and scanning it routes the customer to the right store without a single keystroke.

Events, sales engineering, developer relations

Conferences, demos, and field sales

Put one QR code on the stand, the badge, or the slide. Everyone scans the same code, and everyone reaches the store their phone uses.

Support, documentation, and success teams

Support articles and onboarding docs

Replace the branching instruction with one link, so the article says “install the app” and the link handles the platform question silently.

Stop sharing two links

Putting both a Play Store and an App Store link in your bio, ads, or emails is clumsy — and half your audience taps the wrong one. A single smart link routes each person to the store that fits their device, so the traffic you already paid for reaches a page that can actually install your app.

It takes about a minute, costs nothing, and requires no change to your app, your domain, or your build.

Frequently asked questions

What is a smart app link?

A smart app link is a single short URL that detects the visitor’s device and forwards them to the correct destination — Google Play on Android, the Apple App Store on iPhone and iPad, and a preview page with both options everywhere else. Instead of pasting two store URLs and asking people to pick, you share one link that always resolves to something installable.

Do I need an account to create a link?

No. Enter your app name and at least one store URL, and your smart link plus its QR code are generated immediately. There is no signup, no email confirmation, no credit card, and no trial that expires.

How does the link know which store to open?

When the short link is opened, the request is resolved on our server and the browser’s User-Agent header is inspected before any page is sent back. iPhone, iPad, and iPod signatures route to your App Store URL; Android signatures route to your Google Play URL. Because the decision happens server-side, the visitor never sees an intermediate page flash before the redirect.

What happens on a desktop browser?

Desktop and any other non-mobile visitor is shown the link’s preview page instead of being redirected. That page carries your app name, a button for each store you supplied, and a scannable QR code — so someone reading on a laptop can move to their phone in one scan rather than losing the link.

Is the QR code free to use in print?

Yes. Every link comes with a downloadable, high-resolution PNG with no watermark and no attribution requirement. Use it on flyers, packaging, business cards, roll-up banners, conference badges, slides, or product manuals.

What data do you collect about people who click?

The redirect reads the User-Agent header to choose a destination and does not set tracking cookies, build advertising profiles, or fingerprint visitors. See the privacy policy for the full description of what is stored.
